Abstract: The article examines the transformation of business reputation in the context of a civilizational shift accompanied by a global crisis of trust, digital economic transformation, and the rapid spread of artificial intelligence technologies. It is substantiated that modern reputation management goes beyond the traditional concept of corporate image management and is becoming a strategic mechanism for ensuring access to resources, maintaining stakeholder support, strengthening social legitimacy, and preserving business competitiveness in conditions of high environmental turbulence.
The study proves that the current era is characterized by the overlap of several wave processes — technological, socio-economic, political, informational, and civilizational — which significantly influence the formation of trust in business and public institutions.
Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of the “broken trust era,” emerging as a result of information fragmentation, social polarization, the spread of disinformation, and transformations in communication models within the digital environment. Based on the analysis of the Edelman Trust Barometer 2026 report and Ukrainian sociological studies, the peculiarities of the modern structure of public trust are identified. It is established that business and employers remain among the few institutions still located within the “trust zone,” while the overall level of interpersonal and institutional trust demonstrates a tendency toward decline. The research reveals that in the Ukrainian context the structure of trust has a pronounced security-oriented and solidarity-based character, while corporate reputation increasingly depends on the ability of businesses to support society during wartime, ensure social stability, and demonstrate practical responsibility toward the state and citizens. The paper investigates the specifics of reputation formation for Ukrainian businesses under conditions of full-scale war and substantiates five key dimensions of corporate reputation management: military, social, technological, creative, and crisis dimensions. It is determined that support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assistance to veterans and internally displaced persons, the implementation of social and humanitarian initiatives, adaptation to AI transformations, the use of cultural codes and national symbolism, as well as effective crisis communication management, are becoming decisive factors in the formation of companies’ reputational capital. The study demonstrates that Ukrainian business is developing a unique model of reputation management in which commercial objectives are increasingly integrated with a broader social mission, support for national resilience, and the reproduction of social capital.
Special attention is devoted to the influence of artificial intelligence technologies on reputation processes. It is established that AI creates new opportunities for strategic planning, communication automation, content production, and evaluation of reputationbuilding projects, while simultaneously generating new risks related to the loss of brand authenticity, the spread of disinformation, algorithmic interpretation of corporate narratives, and cybersecurity threats. The article substantiates that under conditions of information fragmentation and communication algorithmization, corporate reputation increasingly depends on companies’ ability to control their narratives, preserve brand authenticity, ensure ethical digital communications, and integrate human empathy with technological reputation management tools.
