Abstract: The article examines digitalization as a key factor in the formation of enterprises’ competitive advantages within the modern economic model, characterized by high dynamism, the globalization of economic processes, rapid technological development, the proliferation of platform-based business models, and the increasing importance of intellectual capital. It is substantiated that digital transformation fundamentally reshapes the traditional sources of competitiveness by shifting the focus from tangible resources and economies of scale to digital resources, data, information and communication technologies, innovation, network effects, and enterprises’ ability to rapidly adapt to changes in the external environment. It is established that digitalization serves not only as a tool for improving enterprise performance but also as a strategic factor in ensuring long-term development and strengthening market positions. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the mechanisms through which digitalization influences the formation of enterprises’ competitive advantages within the modern economic model by integrating the resource-based view and the industry-based approach, as well as to develop a conceptual model explaining the transformation of technological, information and analytical, organizational and managerial, innovative, and market factors, together with human capital, into sustainable competitive positions. The methodological framework of the study is based on the systems approach and incorporates the methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, classification, logical and comparative analysis, as well as structural and logical modelling. The research systematizes the key mechanisms through which digitalization contributes to the formation of enterprises’ competitive advantages, including business process automation, productivity enhancement, optimization of operational and transaction costs, the development of digital platforms, and the application of big data, artificial intelligence, and advanced information and analytical systems. The principal groups of factors determining the formation of competitive advantages under digitalization are identified, namely technological, information and analytical, organizational and managerial, innovative, market, and human capital factors. It is demonstrated that their synergistic interaction ensures the transformation of an enterprise’s resource base into sustainable competitive advantages, enhances its adaptability to changes in the digital environment, and strengthens its overall competitiveness. A structural and logical model of enterprise competitive advantage formation is developed, illustrating the interrelationships between digitalization, the identified groups of factors, and enterprise performance outcomes manifested through productivity growth, cost reduction, the development of innovative business models, and strengthened market positions. The practical application of the proposed model, based on the case of PJSC “Progress,” confirms the effectiveness of comprehensive digital transformation in enhancing enterprise competitiveness. At the same time, the study identifies the major challenges associated with digitalization, including high investment costs, the need to develop employees’ digital competencies, increasing competition for access to data, cybersecurity risks, and unequal access to digital resources. The scientific novelty of the research lies in integrating the resourcebased view and the industry-based approach to explain the mechanisms of competitive advantage formation in the digital economy and in developing a comprehensive structural and logical model of this process. The practical significance of the findings lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches to the development of enterprise digital strategies, the improvement of strategic management processes, and the enhancement of long-term competitiveness.
